Have you tried the suggestions listed in the other thread. like testing with ftp.exe? Your problem is likely not this program directly, but something which affects the transfer.

As far as 2.1 being less buggy, some examples could be interesting. Problems connecting is most likely due to improper configuration, but again, examples included in a proper bug-report are welcome....

JensB, there are littererarily no filenames unix won't eat, as long as you either encapsulate the filename in " or pre-pend the "illegal chars" with \.
